I met Phern many years ago at Bride&co. She was their in house wedding coordinator and I was a new service provider part of the Bride&co supplier list. I was a year into the industry and to meet Phern was a blessing in disguise and we hit it off immediately! However a month in, Phern popped me a mail,
“Candi, I’m off to another venue. I’ll keep in touch!”
I was so bumbed! There goes a coordinator who was a fountain of knowledge! So I continued with Bride&co and some months later Phern called!
“Come see me in Northcliff, Morrells Boutique Venue. I am the head coordinator.”
We shared a coffee, a few laughs and so our friendship has grown over the last few years. Last year I was at Morrells to do makeup for one of their brides and Phern stopped me to ask if I was available on the 28th September 2014.
“I’m not sure Phern, the date doesn’t ring a bell so I may be available..”
“You’re not available because you’re doing my makeup for my wedding day!”
Phern had been engaged for some time so to hear she had booked a date was exciting. I was truly honored to be asked to do her makeup. Phern knows many makeup artists because of her involvement with the industry, I was proud nonetheless!
Phern and her bridesmaids got ready at 12 Decades on Main. The room was spacious and we had awesome light streaming in. Perfect working conditions for myself, Phern’s photographer Christiaan and her Videographer Andreas. It was a fun morning and everyone just laughed. I hope you enjoy Phern’s photographs as much as I have, Christiaan David was able to capture a soft and gentle Phern, the Phern we all know and love. Though there is a twinkle in her eyes that must make Chris turn into jelly. Happy Thursday!
